Code of Conduct & Discipline
Sentraya Perumal College of Education is committed to maintaining a safe, disciplined, and value-oriented academic environment. Students are expected to uphold high standards of conduct, responsibility, and mutual respect, which are essential qualities for future teachers.
Code of Conduct
- Discipline and punctuality are integral to academic success. Students must attend all classes, practical sessions, and institutional activities on time.
- A minimum of 75% attendance is mandatory to be eligible for university examinations, as per TNTEU norms.
- Students shall maintain respectful and courteous behaviour towards faculty members, staff, fellow students, and visitors at all times.
- College property, including classrooms, laboratories, library materials, and equipment, must be handled with care. Any damage or loss will attract disciplinary action.
- Assignments, tests, practical records, and academic tasks must be completed and submitted within stipulated deadlines.
- Students are required to regularly check notices and circulars displayed on the notice board and official communication channels.
Discipline Policy
- The institution follows a zero-tolerance policy towards indiscipline, misconduct, and unethical behaviour.
- Use of mobile phones and electronic gadgets during class and laboratory hours is strictly prohibited.
- Students shall not loiter in corridors or campus areas during instructional hours.
- Smoking, consumption of alcohol, drugs, or any intoxicating substances within the campus is strictly prohibited.
- Any form of violence, intimidation, or unruly behaviour inside or outside the campus will lead to strict disciplinary action.
Anti-Ragging Policy
- Ragging in any form is a punishable offence under law.
- The institution strictly enforces anti-ragging regulations as prescribed by statutory authorities.
- Students must report any incident of ragging immediately to the concerned authority without fear.
Student Responsibility
- Students are expected to take responsibility for their academic progress and personal conduct.
- Respect for non-teaching staff and support personnel is strongly emphasized.
- Students should use campus facilities such as the library, playground, and common areas responsibly.
- Any grievances or concerns should be reported through proper institutional channels.
Mentoring & Support
Each student teacher is guided by a Class Mentor who provides academic and personal support throughout the programme. The mentoring system ensures continuous guidance, counselling, and professional development.
